Termly Plan for Parents

Term : Summer 2019

Main topics for this term:
Minibeasts

Personal and Social Development - Developing independency, confidence, health and welfare through learning about others, ourselves, healthy eating, safety and circle time.

Language - Developing oracy, reading and writing skills through discussions and reading a variety of books. We follow Tric a Chlic phonics plan and use different writing forms and working cross curricularly in thematic work.

Mathematics - Developing skills in counting, recognising number, value of number, ordering number, measuring (capacity), simple addition, recognise coins and shapes.

Knowledge and Understanding of the World - Learning about our world through minibeasts theme introducing aspects of science and geography.

Music - Sing songs about small creatures and hymns. Add sounds to stories. Play yard games and create instruments and compose in the forest school

Art - Promoting creativity through cutting, sticking, painting, explore making different pieces of work to fit in with the theme.

Physical education -
Monday afternoon
Important-Suitable clothing is required for physical education activities (blue/navy school t-shirt, shorts, pumps)

Homework:
Regular reading
Busy books.
Homework is given at the end of the week. Your child is expected to return the homework on Monday/Tuesday.

Helping your child:
Reading to and with your child.

Snack: £1 per week. If possible, please could snack money be paid on Monday. You may wish to pay for the whole half term in one payment. Morning snack will include a variety of fruit or cracker and milk.

If you are unsure about anything, please ask your child’s class teacher.
